About This Site

Denver Nursing Schools is an independent information site for people researching nursing education in the Denver metropolitan area. We are not a college, we do not admit students, and we do not award degrees or licenses. Our job is narrower and, we think, useful: collect the facts about local nursing programs in one place, explain them in plain language, and point you to the official source for anything you need to rely on.

The metro has more nursing options than most applicants realise at first. Community colleges in Littleton, Westminster, Arvada, Aurora, and Denver sit alongside technical colleges, private nursing colleges, and universities with graduate nursing programs. They do not all offer the same credentials, they do not charge in the same way, and they do not run on the same calendar. Comparing them from individual school websites alone means opening a dozen sites and trying to line up information that was never written to be lined up. This site does that lining up for you.

What You Will Find Here

  • Program guides that explain each route into nursing in the Denver area, including practical nursing, associate degree programs, bachelor degree programs, bridge options for LPNs and paramedics, completion programs for working RNs, accelerated options for people who already hold a bachelor degree in another subject, and graduate nursing study.
  • A directory that lists local schools by the credentials they offer, so you can build a shortlist by license goal first and location second.
  • Individual school reviews covering the programs each campus offers, how admission works, what attendance involves, and what questions are worth asking that specific school.
  • Practical resources on admission requirements, tuition and financial aid, and preparing for the NCLEX in Colorado.

How We Research

Program information on this site is drawn from sources a prospective student can check: school catalogs and program pages, the Colorado Board of Nursing, and national accrediting bodies such as ACEN and CCNE. Where a figure or requirement matters, we try to show which source it came from and when it was last reviewed.

Three habits shape the writing:

  1. No rankings. We do not name a best or top school. Which program suits you depends on your current license or degree, your grades and prerequisites, where you can travel for clinical placements, and what you can afford. A single ranked list would hide exactly the differences you need to see.
  2. Approval and accreditation are reported separately. State approval, institutional accreditation, and nursing program accreditation are different statuses held by different bodies. We report each one as the school and the relevant registry describe it, including when a newer program is still working toward a status.
  3. Costs are treated as estimates, not promises. Tuition and fees change by academic year and by residency, and published totals do not always include the same items. We explain what to include in a comparison and encourage you to get a written estimate from any school you are seriously considering.

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not guarantee admission, graduation, licensure, or employment outcomes for any program. Those decisions belong to schools, the Colorado Board of Nursing, and employers.
  • We do not provide personal admissions advice for an individual application. School admissions offices and academic advisors can review your transcripts; we cannot.
  • Financial aid information here is general educational information. Aid may be available to those who qualify, and only the school and the relevant aid providers can determine your eligibility.

Keeping Information Current

Nursing programs revise prerequisites, application windows, tuition, and program status. We review pages periodically and update them when source material changes, but there can be a gap between a school changing a requirement and this site reflecting it. Treat this site as a starting point for a shortlist, then confirm deadlines, costs, and requirements on the school’s own site and with its admissions office before you apply or pay anything.

Corrections

If you work for a listed school, or you are a student who has spotted something that no longer matches a school’s published information, we want to hear about it. Use the contact page, tell us which page and which detail you are referring to, and include a link to the official source if you have one. Verified corrections are the fastest way to make this resource better for the next person researching the same decision.
